Programs and Connections That Make A Difference
Dear Goddard House Friends and Colleagues,
Purpose, joy, and connection weave through life at Goddard House. Our residents embody these ideals every day through their curiosity, creativity, and resilience. They inspire us to build a thriving community where older adults flourish, engaging in activities that nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits.
Holly, a professional photographer and nature lover, revels in planting, tending and enjoying vegetables during our Growing the Farm program. Barbara, a retired nurse executive, finds joy and community in our Living Artfully with Parkinson’s art therapy program, while, John, a film historian and former film editor, creates bonds by hosting movie discussions with fellow residents. Engagement in creative programming enriches lives.
Our creative programming makes Goddard House special. Through concerts and lectures, gardening, art therapy, poetry, and theater, every resident—and often members of the greater community—has access to activities that spark connection and joy. Research affirms what we see daily: Engaging in creative expression enhances quality of life and contributes to better mental and physical health.
In 2025, we will elevate these experiences by re-envisioning the Goddard House campus. A new multi-purpose gathering space will be the heart of Goddard House’s arts and engagement programs, a welcoming venue for residents, families, and community members. The renovation will also include an expanded dining room, a dedicated art room, new outdoor spaces for greater access to nature, and an enhanced staff breakroom to support the well-being of our caregivers.
Your support of our Annual Appeal will help sustain and enhance our innovative programming. Contributions to the Goddard House Visioning Campaign will help us create physical spaces that reflect and sustain the vibrant spirit of our community. Please consider contributing to this vital work and our other priorities like the Matilda Goddard Fund for staff development or arts programs for under-resourced older adults through Goddard House Community Initiatives. Your tax-deductible gift will make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. Please give online at goddardhouse.org/donate.
Thank you for your consideration and best wishes for a joyous holiday season!
Gratefully,
Candace Cramer
