Ivor Cary Armistead III

Board Member

Cary joined the Goddard House Board in 2012, attracted by its mission to improve the aging experience and reduce elder isolation.

As a lawyer, he brings to the Board his experience as a federal prosecutor, a vice president and assistant general counsel of an international computer manufacturer, and a partner in a major international law firm. His practice included a broad range of national and international regulatory and business transactions as well as law department and law firm management.

Since retirement from the full-time practice of law at Ropes & Gray LLC, Cary has taken on a variety of consulting and professional coaching assignments and served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations, including YWBoston. He is also an avid reader, traveler, and amateur photographer.

Like many members of the Goddard House Board, his interest in the challenges of aging and elder isolation began with experience in assisting aging members of his own family.

Cary serves on the Governance, Strategic Planning, Building, and Resource Development Committees.
