Mindful Aging Program
Mindful Aging at Goddard House is a unique class specifically designed for older adults that combines mindfulness tools and stress reduction techniques. The program is based on the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course developed at UMass Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness by Professor of Medicine Emeritus, Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the Stress Reduction Clinic.
Growing the Farm
Through our Growing the Farm program, residents benefit from outdoor organic vegetable gardens, an indoor herb garden and a chicken coop.
Dedicated to Matilda Goddard in 2016, Gallery M is our art gallery in which we feature both resident artwork as well as that of local artists.
Opening Minds Through Art
Opening Minds through Art (OMA) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program. Developed by Dr. Like Lokon at the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University in Ohio, OMA is grounded in person-centered ethics and was founded on the fact that people with dementia can express themselves creatively, in this case artistically. OMA’s mission is to build a bridge across cognitive barriers and age through art.
Fitness at Goddard
Goddard House offers a wide array of daily group fitness classes and operates two fitness studios for individual training in our Traditional Assisted Living and Olmsted Memory Support Neighborhoods.
Brain Healthy Cooking
Our fine dining experience features menu variety, fresh healthy food sourced locally in season, wait service, and an Executive Chef who prepares meals inspired by the Mediterranean region.
The Goddard House leadership team engaged in a training process to become the first Assisted Living in Massachusetts to obtain a SAGE accreditation to better serve LGBT elders.
