Goddard House Names 2020 Phyllis Vineyard Award Winners

BROOKLINE, MA – Goddard House Assisted Living in Brookline has announced the recipients of their 2020 Phyllis Vineyard Awards for Exemplary Service. Adeline Michel, a Resident Care Associate, and Eugene Mbukanma, Dining Room Manager, were selected from a pool of more than 30 eligible associates for the honor.

Phyllis Vineyard served as the Vice President and member of the Goddard House Board of Trustees for many years, including two decades as Chair of the Ethics Committee. During her tenure on the Board, Vineyard was known for her commitment to creating a fair and healthy work environment and providing opportunities to recognize employees for their contributions to the community.

Since her retirement from the Board of Trustees in 2011, the Phyllis Vineyard Award for Exemplary Service has been given to two staff members each year. It is an award given to employees who consistently demonstrate excellence, commitment and service reflected in the seven Goddard House values: Compassion, Respect, Collaboration, Responsiveness, Excellence, Innovation and Transparency. One award is given to a member of the care-giving staff and the other to a member of any other department.

While traditionally the awards ceremony takes place during a formal luncheon with all nominees, this year Michel and Mbukanma were presented with their awards in a small ceremony at Goddard House. Rebecca Gabriel, a Resident Care Associate, was also recognized as this year’s Honorable Mention recipient.
