Goddard House Assisted Living Raises over $2K for the Alzheimer’s Association
BROOKLINE, MA — On Friday, September 27th, Goddard House Assisted Living hosted their 2nd annual “Mini Walk to End Alzheimer’s”, which raised more than $2,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
While staff and residents also participate in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Cambridge each year, Goddard House started the mini walk as a way to include residents and their families who wouldn’t normally participate in the larger event. This year, more than 50 walkers took part in the event at Goddard including staff, residents, families and friends of the community. Many walkers dressed in purple to show their support for the cause.
Alzheimer’s Disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States, and the money raised through this event will go toward researching treatments for the disease.
